Bio for District Governor 2017-18
Iris Sullivan, Rotary International Governor 2017-18 for District 7810, Northeastern Maine and New Brunswick, Canada
Iris is honored to be a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Marathon, Ontario in 1989 in District 5580. She and her husband Bill relocated to Miramichi N.B. in 2007 where she joined the Rotary Club of Chatham. As a Rotarian she has been involved in most Club committees and Executive positions and has been Club President three times. Her Family has been active in the Student Exchange Program as well as the GSE program over the years. Iris’s first career was as a Nurse in Northern Manitoba. After relocating to Ontario in 1998, she purchased two Robin’s Donuts Franchises which she operated for eighteen years. In 2007 she and her husband relocated to Miramichi.  Iris accepted the challenge to create a Charitable Foundation at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, where she is presently employed. As well as operating her two Coffee Franchises, Iris made time to support her two Daughters in their activities, both Daughters Leah and Pamela were Competitive Figure skaters. Iris is blessed to have ten beautiful grandchildren that she loves dearly.  Iris is a Paul Harris Fellow and has received Rotarian of the year award several times. She is an Alumni of Women of Influence in Ontario. Iris has been an active community member and was elected twice To Municipal Council in Marathon. She has been involved in Church Groups, Public Health Boards, and the Ontario Association Board of Directors and is presently a Mentor with the local College for the Entrepreneurs Program OASIS. Family is a priority in her life her Daughters and Grandchildren are her lifeline. Iris enjoys music, reading and loves entertaining her friends.  Iris believes having Rotary as an extended family is an integral part of her life for the past twenty eight years, especially after the passing of her husband in June 2016. Iris resides in Miramichi New Brunswick.
